Karatal is a hand percussion instrument from India. This khartal pair is another form of manjira or hand cymbal. This kartal pair is consist of a fibre frame with two long, straight handles that connect to each other with two short fibre handles; the open space between the long handles has a fibre separator that separates two rows of three brass cymbal. There are also small cymbals fixed into fibre blocks forming another type of instrument. This product is made from fibre material and available in multicolour. The khartal is mostly used as a backdrop for bhajans (devotional songs) and nowadays as a solo performance like most of the percussion instruments.
