Mphmi Plants The Pink Trumpet / pink lapacho is a large deciduous tree. Handroanthus impetiginosus is the scientific name of Tabebuia avellanedae. It has a large, globus, but often sparse canopy. The tree has a slow growth rate. The flower is large, tubular shaped, its corolla is often pink or magenta, though exceptionally seen white, about 2 inches long.
The soil should be well drained and fertile rich in oragnic content.
Do not over-water the plant especially when pot does not have drainage holes.
Poke your finger/plain small stick into the soil to check the moisture. Water when topsoil (3-4 inches) feels dry to touch. Water thoroughly in the summer and reduce watering in winter and rainy season.
