This circuit is based on the operational amplifier ic 741, which is acting here as comparator. As the light falls on the ldr r3, its resistance decreases and the voltage at v+ terminal of the opamp increases, as soon as it becomes more than v- set by the potentiometer r5, the output becomes high. Consequently the buzzer and LED get turn on. This prototype model can be placed at the dark places where the entry of any person is prohibited.
